Notes and ideas 2

<Stylus> I just remembered that I found this recently - http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/Linux_software_equivalent_to_Windows_software

<tomg> I am not sure what to do about applications that are no longer maintained
<tomg> I think I should include them but with a note that they might be hard to get going
<Stylus> Yes, maybe a star or something to identify them.
<tomg> yes, that's a good idea.
<Stylus> Possibly a colour-coding system?
<tomg> like for hard to install, terminal, Windows-emulator required, virtual machine required
<Stylus> Yes, that sort of thing.
<tomg> for now I am just going to add the notes after the program name, maybe in brackets or parenthesis
<Stylus> Yep
<tomg> I would have to list all the Steam games on the Things you can do on Linux page too
<tomg> I think with a note or abbreviation or colour code too

<tomg> unfortunately I see where this is going. I think we would need a whole Web site for programs that will run on Linux
<tomg> it could be an even bigger project than this Linux advocacy project, but I intend to include about 1000 programs to start with
<tomg> in the wiki I mean
<tomg> but maybe it'll get adopted by the free software public at large and take on a life of its own so we don't have to take care of it. that could be a really good idea
